They already turn up for someone. A licence means they can get there sooner, go further, and reach the people nobody else can. We pay for the lessons.

What we mean
Neighbourhood heroes are the people who give their own time to look after somebody else. A daughter, a neighbour, a volunteer at the food bank. Most of them are not paid and none of them call themselves that.
How it works
Nothing clever. Each step is paid for before the next one starts.
Someone tells us who they look after and what a licence would let them do.
We match them with funding and a volunteer or partner driving instructor.
Workbooks, mock questions and quiet support until the theory is passed.
Real lessons, paid for, with an instructor who knows what they are for.
Test fees covered. We are waiting at the kerb.
A licence. More doors knocked on. More people reached.

Ellie says: book the theory before you think you are ready. The date is what makes you practise.
Pat says: if you are teaching someone, say one thing at a junction, not four.
The numbers
We started small and we will say so. These figures change as the work does.
Books & resources
We publish workbooks for learners, families and driving instructors. The money goes straight back into getting neighbourhood heroes on the road.
