The short version

This site sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies at all.

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, social media trackers or any other third-party measurement. Nothing about your visit is shared with an advertiser.

Because of that, there is no cookie consent banner. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, consent is needed for cookies that are not strictly necessary. We do not set any, so there is nothing to ask you about. A banner asking permission for cookies that do not exist would be theatre, and it would train you to click Accept without reading, so we have left it out.

If we ever add analytics, we will add a proper consent banner before it goes live: no non-essential cookies set until you choose, Reject given exactly the same size and weight as Accept, and a link in the footer to change your mind later.

What is actually stored in your browser

Browsing the public pages of this site, reading the town guides or downloading a free sheet, sets nothing in your browser. The two items below appear only if you sign in to an account, which almost no visitor needs to do.

Sign-in session

What it is
Stored in your browser's local storage, not a cookie, once you sign in to an account.
Why it is there
Keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Only set after you sign in.
How long it lasts
Until you sign out, or the session expires.

Category: strictly necessary. No consent required.

sidebar:state

What it is
A cookie remembering whether the admin sidebar is open or collapsed.
Why it is there
A layout preference inside the admin area. Never set for ordinary visitors.
How long it lasts
7 days.

Category: strictly necessary. No consent required.

Other services, and where their cookies live

Some things we point you at are run elsewhere, on their own domains, under their own policies. They may set cookies there, but not here:

  • Our shop at store.care2drive.co.uk, for basket and checkout.
  • [PAYMENT PROVIDER], which handles card payments and may set cookies for fraud prevention on its own checkout pages.
  • [CRM PROVIDER], if we later embed a form from it on this site. If we do, we will list what it sets here first.

We do not embed YouTube videos, social media feeds, live chat widgets or map frames on this site, so none of those are loading trackers in the background.

Server logs, which are not cookies

Our host keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, including IP address, browser type and the page requested, to serve pages and block abuse. That is not stored in your browser and cannot be switched off with a cookie setting; it is covered by legitimate interests in the privacy policy.

Controlling this yourself

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear local storage, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking everything on this site costs you nothing except the ability to stay signed in to an account.
